Aptimise Composites (d/b/a Plastic Composites) develops Intellectual Property (i.e. patents) around its technology and products. Aptimise Composites actively practices a number of its patents and patent applications. As such, Aptimise has a core of people skilled in patentability searches, invalidation studies, freedom-to-operate searches, patent preparation and prosecution, as well as technology transfer.
Among the skill sets are alumni of one of the nation’s largest patent search firms, including one of their leading trainers in search methods for US and PCT IPER searches. Another member received training at the EPO in patent searches. Aptimise uses the major search databases.
Included in the group are mechanical engineers and chemists at levels ranging from Bachelor’s degrees to award-winning PhDs. Aptimise Composites personnel are active members of professional associations such as Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), Licensing Executive Society (LES), several Intellectual Property Law/Owners Associations, American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and the American Society for Quality.
All of the standard docketing processes are in place for control of quality and timeliness of the entire portfolio of patents over which Aptimise watches. In terms of facilities, the offices are based in the 34,000 sq ft manufacturing plant, which also houses the server farm and telecoms. All data are backed up routinely in an off-site server farm in Detroit, MI.
